The scientific name of the genus is derived from the words Peuce and danos , meaning “spruce” and “low”, that is, “small spruce”. What is associated with obtaining earlier from the plant resin. [3]

Botanical description
Perennial plants with complex, trifoliate or pinnately dissected leaves .
Teeth calyx short, often imperceptible. Petals are white, greenish or yellowish, broadly ovate, notched at the top. Column bent, a half to two times longer than the thick-conical subdolbiya.
Fruits strongly compressed from the back, narrowly or widely elliptical. Poluplodiki with three filiform, close, weakly protruding spinal ribs.
Dissemination and ecology
Representatives of the genus grow almost all over Eurasia , with the exception of the Arctic , as well as in South and Central Africa .
