Leishmaniavirus (lat.) Is a genus of the viruses of the Totiviridae family. They were isolated from a number of strains of Leishmania of the New World , such as Leishmania braziliensis and Leishmania guyanensis , as well as from one strain of Leishmania major [2] .

Virions in the form of an icosahedron , in diameter about 33 nm . They contain double-stranded RNA with a length of about 5.3 kb [3] .
According to the International Committee on Virus Taxonomy (ICTV) , as of May 2016, 2 species are included in the genus [4] :
- Leishmania RNA virus 1 typus
- Leishmania RNA virus 2
