Biography
Shekhar Kapoor was born in Lahore , British India (now Pakistan ). Father Kulbhusan Kapoor is a doctor, mother Shil Kant is an actress and journalist. Received primary education in New Delhi . Studied at St. Stefan. At age 22, Kapoor became a certified public accountant to please his parents.
Career
Shekhar Kapoor began his career working with multi-national oil companies. He moved to the UK in 1970, and for several years worked as an accountant and management consultant.
He began his career as an actor in the movie "Jaan Hazir hai" (1975), and then in "Toote Khilone" in Bollywood. Also appeared on several television series. Kapoor played a cameo in Bandit Queen as a truck driver. In 1998, he received international recognition by receiving an Oscar for the film Elizabeth. In 2002, he was indicted by the British tabloids for his portrayal of the English army in the movie Four Feathers. In an unusual role for himself, Kapoor voiced Mahatma Gandhi . Currently, one of the judges in the reality show, "India's Got Talent."
Personal life
Shekhar Kapoor was married to singer and actress Suchitra Krishnamurti , has a daughter Kaveri. They divorced in February 2007. Nevertheless, they continue to live next door because of their daughter.
