In 1974, at the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Barcelona club, Basor was included in the symbolic team of the club’s best players. Career
Estanislao Basora was born in the family of the head of a textile enterprise [4] . He began his career at the amateur clubs Colony Waltz, Suria and Manresa. In 1946 he moved to Barcelona , where, with a break for the season at the Lerida club, he played 13 years, having played 373 matches and scoring 153 goals [5] . He won four Spanish Championships with the team, three Eva Duarte Cups , two Latin Cups , four Spanish Cup Winners and one Fairs Cup . He made up the famous line of attack at Barcelona, along with Ladislav Kubala , Eduardo Manchon and Thomas Hernandez. In 1958, Basora decided to end his career, he spent the farewell match in the semifinal of the Spanish Cup, where he scored two goals [6] . Basore also offered contracts clubs from England , where he lived for some time, but the Spaniard refused.
In the Spanish national team, Basora spent 22 matches and scored 13 goals. He made his debut with the national team on June 12, 1949 , where his team defeated Ireland . After 7 days, on June 19 , Basora scored 3 goals against France , for which the French press nicknamed him “Monster Colomba ”. Basora participated in the 1950 World Cup , where he scored 5 goals. The last match for the Basor national team was held on May 26, 1957 against Scotland [6] .
In March 2012, Basora was taken to the Universitario de Gran Canaria hospital with a heart attack [7] . On March 16, he died; his wife Margaret and two daughters remained. [8]
