Juan Diego Flores ( Spanish: Juan Diego Flórez Salom ; January 13, 1973 , Lima , Peru ) - Peruvian opera singer ( tenor ), received a very high praise from the public and critics [1] [2] and nicknamed the "Golden Boy". Some experts consider him one of the best modern lyric tenors [3] . The holder of the highest state award of his country is the Knight of the Great Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru [4] .

Biography
Juan Diego Flores Salom is the son of singer and guitarist Ruben Flores Pinedo, Peruvian Creole music performer, who worked with the famous singer Chabuca Grande, and Maria Teresa Salom, sister of Carlos Salom, a member of one of the most famous experimental music groups in Peru Laghonia.
He began as a performer of popular music (cover versions of songs from the Beatles and Led Zeppelin repertoire). He studied at the College of Santa Margarita en Materrico in Lima, where he met with singer Gianmarco and Katushka, a singer from the group Conexión Límbica.
He studied at the National Conservatory of Peru , then, from 1993 to 1996 , at the Curtis Institute ( Philadelphia , USA ). He took private lessons from Marilyn Horn and Ernesto Palacio [5] .
In November 2012, he received the honorary title of Kammersenger in Vienna [6] .
