Gridlik

Gridlik (born grid leak) is an automatic bias circuit in circuits with an electronic lamp . It consists of a parallel connected capacitor and resistor connected between the cathode and the grid. It is used in electronic signal generators to improve their start-up and ensure high efficiency .

It works as follows. The pulses of the grid current charge the capacitor, a certain negative voltage is established on it, which closes the lamp. In this case, the capacitor immediately begins to discharge through the resistor - an equilibrium is established between the capacitor charge current (pulses of the grid current) and the discharge current through the resistor.

In practice, the resistance of the resistor is units of M Ohm . The resistor is often set variable, which allows you to adjust the bias voltage.
