Pyotr Aleksandrovich Gerasimov (1812-1869 / 1870 ) - Russian architect , restorer and teacher, founding member and chairman of the Moscow Architectural Society in 1869.

Biography
Born in 1812 (according to other sources - in 1810 [1] ) in the family of lackey cells.
Since November 1822 he studied at the architectural school of the Expedition of the Kremlin building with the rank of copyist for his maintenance. In March 1827 he was promoted to clerk. After graduating from the Moscow Palace Architectural School (MDAU) in 1832 with the title of assistant architect of the 3rd class, he served in the Moscow Palace Office . In 1836, Gerasimov shot drawings of ancient architectural details in Izmailovo. In 1837 he was awarded a diamond ring [2] .
In 1838-1849, under the leadership of K.A. Ton, he participated in the construction of the Grand Kremlin Palace . For the construction of the palace he received the rank of college secretary and 400 rubles with bank notes. In 1847 he was approved as an architect. After finishing work in the Grand Kremlin Palace in 1849, the architect received the rank of college assessor , 1,200 rubles in silver and a gold medal on a blue ribbon. In September 1851, P. A. Gerasimov was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree [2] .
In 1852-1855, as an assistant, N. I. Chichagov participated in the reconstruction of the building of the old Armory . From 1849 to 1865 he taught perspective and drawing at the MDAU. In October 1855 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 3rd degree, and in 1859 the same order of the 2nd degree. In 1859-1865 he was the director of MDAU. Since 1866 he taught architecture at the architectural department of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture . In 1868, P. A. Gerasimov became the head of the drawing of the Moscow Palace Office. In 1867, he became one of the founding members of the Moscow Architectural Society (MAO) , and in the year of his death he became chairman of the Society [2] (he was in this position for less than a month [3] ).
He died on December 20, 1869 ( January 1, 1870 ) in Pskov on the way to vacation abroad. He was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovsky cemetery [2] .
