Biography
Born on January 22, 1890 in the village of Nikolsky, Uglich County in the family of an official. In 1909 he graduated from the Yaroslavl gymnasium . He entered the natural department of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow University, in 1911 he was transferred to St. Petersburg University . During his studies, he worked at the Murmansk Biological Station , studied the plankton of the Kola Bay . Since 1912 he was an associate member, and then a full member of the Yaroslavl Natural History Society .
He settled in 1918 in Danilov , where he worked as a teacher of science and geography in high school, and then as a teacher of science and chemistry at the Danilov Pedagogical College . In 1921 he moved to Yaroslavl , where he taught at the Department of Botany of the Agronomy Faculty of Yaroslavl University (1921-1924) and at the same time headed the Museum of the Yaroslavl Natural History Society (1922-1929, from 1925 - the Natural History Department of the Yaroslavl State Museum ). After the university was closed in 1924, he taught at the Yaroslavl Pedagogical Institute ; played a leading role in the creation of the Institute's Botanical Garden ; From 1931 to 1947 he headed the Department of Botany.
He was engaged in the study of flora and microflora of the region. He participated in the committee of the association for the study of productive forces of the Yaroslavl province . He participated in scientific expeditions, local history congresses, conferences. Published in the Proceedings of the Yaroslavl Natural History Society and the Scientific Notes of the Yaroslavl Pedagogical Institute.
He died in Yaroslavl on October 24, 1955.
