The musicals “Sailor Moon” ( Japanese セ ー ラ ー ム ー ン ・ ミ ュ ー ジ カ ル Se: ra: mu: n mu: dzikaru ) , often abbreviated as SeraMyu ( yap. セ ラ ミ ュ м sir mu:) - a series of theatrical performances in the basics of Seyuti Mouetoko Nasoko . The series consists of more than 30 musicals , giving more than 800 performances since the beginning of the first summer of 1993. The producers mainly follow and expand the plot shown in the anime and manga , although there are several original storylines.

Overview
The series was staged by a division of the Japanese company Bandai, and generally released 3 musicals a year, [1] coinciding with vacations in Japanese schools. In winter, performances were only at the Sunshine Theater in Ikebukuro in Tokyo ; in the summer, the troupe visited other major cities in Japan.
The latest release, “A New Legend of Kagui Island” [Corrected] (新 ・ か ぐ や 島 伝 説 <改 訂 版> Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu (Kiteiban) ) was released in January 2005, after which the series took a break. The next musical, La Reconquista, took place only in 2013. New musicals take place at AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo, as well as in major theaters in Osaka, Fukuoka and other cities.
Musicals are mainly built on the following elements: a theme song, usually played in battle, when warriors defeat the enemy; visual gags ; and songs usually created for individual characters or groups of characters: romantic songs between Usagi and Mamoru, battle songs of external warriors, songs about the normal life of internal warriors and songs of villains.
Kiteiban , or The Revised Edition, is another important aspect of Sailor Moon's musicals. Usually, new musicals were staged by summer and “fixed” by winter. The main plot elements remained the same, but their description expanded to a new version. Parts of the show were usually remade; the villains, who were not completely defeated in the original version, finally died or were healed in the “corrected”, and the actresses who left the show often gave more solos of parties and phrases.
In musicals, producers mostly try to follow and expand the plot of the original works. For example, novels between four inner warriors and shiteno in past lives were taken from the image in the manga, where they are depicted in each other's arms. [2] The creator of the series, Naoko Takeuchi, explained that this image had an impact on the first musical - “Alternative History - The Strange Revival of the Dark Kingdom”. In addition, two original scenes were created in the musicals: “The Legend of Kagui Island” ( Kaguya Shima Densetsu ) and “The Last Dracula”.
The scenery and backdrops in the performances range from extremely simple (just a few scenery, there is no backdrop or backdrop with a simple pattern) to medium decorated (a large number of small decorations, several large ones, for example, a wall for the whole stage with several stairs and a large door), to more elaborate ones parts using different levels on the stage, hatches and hidden doors. Attacks of warriors were portrayed with multi-colored light, striking enemies and sometimes with small explosions or other small pyrotechnics. In most cases, warriors turn behind the curtains and only their key phrases are heard [3] . Only Usagi turns on stage, which is done by darkening part of the scene [4] or scenery details moving around the actor. [5] The only real “ transformation ” ever to appear in musicals consisted of a pre-made film projected onto a fence and showing the transformation of the actors. [6]
The songs from the musicals were compiled into 20 music albums , [7] and many of the musicals were also released on DVD.
Musicals
The producers of the show divided all the musicals into three stages - three groups of musicals. “The First Stage” consists of musicals in which the role of Sailor Moon was played by Andza Oyama , the first and longest acting actress. The plots in this stage are parallel to the manga and anime and in the end almost the main actors were changed. The second stage includes the participation of three different actresses who played Sailor Moon, the only musical ("The Legend of the Kagui Island"), completely independent from the original plot, and the musicals of Dracula Arch (a series of four musicals, the last three of which were staged according to the original plot, and the first based on earlier musicals of 1994-1995 with the addition of a storyline about Count Dracula), and ends with a remake of the original “Final First Stage” - “Eien Densetsu” (called “Kakyuu Ouhi Kourin”). The third and final stage retained the same actress as Sailor Moon and consists of only two musicals (both of which are remakes of “Legends of the Kagui Island”), shown for the last time in January 2005.

Interesting Facts
- Many of the actors later performed in various Tokusatsu shows such as Kamen Rider and Super Sentai .
- Tieko Kawabe , who played the role of Sailor Mercury in musicals, later played the role of Naru Osaka in the drama.
- The musicals were heavily influenced by the work of Takarazuk Revue , a Japanese full-time troupe that also inspired Naoko Takeuchi to create a couple of Haruki and Michiru. [16] Although there are male actors in musicals, some male characters were played by women. Yamato Yuga was especially distinguished, who became the first woman in the role of Tuxedo Mask.
- Actresses of the Takarazuka Theater who played in the musicals Sailor Moon: Nishina Yuri (Queen Beryl, 1993-1998), Seiso Kiha (Haruda Sakurada, 1994), Fukuma Mitsumi (Kaorinayt, 1995), Kamiya Yuki (Sailor Pluton, 1998), Tasai Syun (Dark Menorah, 2005), Yamato Yuga (Taksido Kamen, 2013 - present), Hatsukaze Midori (Queen Beryl, 2013), Sayka Ryo (Zoisite, 2013), Mahiro Erika (Prince Diamond, 2014), Manami Sora ( Sapphire, 2014), Kaon Yuuki (Professor Tomoe, 2015), Ogi Kei (Kaorinayt, 2015), Shiotsuki Shu (Sailor Uranus, 2015 - present), Fujioka Sayaka (Sailor Neptune, 2015 - present), Otsuki Sayu (Queen of Healing, 2016 ), Chihiro Ando (Tiger Ay, 2016), Isuzu Coco (Sailor Galaxia, 2017), Yuto Iria (Sailor Lead Crow, 2017).
- In many performances, the roles of Chibi-Usa and Chibi-Chibi were played by two actresses at once, since the labor legislation of Japan does not allow such young children to work without rest in accordance with the production schedules. The girls replaced each other and played in various combinations. For example, one played Chibi-Usu, and the second - Sailor Chibi-Moon. Or, they just played on different days, allowing each other to relax and gain strength before the next exit to the stage.
- In 2018, in the summer and autumn, there were performances of a special musical with members of the idol group Nogizaka46 in the lead roles. The girls were divided into two teams Moon and Star, the actress Ishii Mikako played the role of Taksido Kamena, who played the role of Sailor Pluto in the four previous productions, the role of Kunzait was played by Chihiro Ando (the former actress of the Takarazuka theater and played Tiger Aya in 2016), and Queen Berill was embodied on stage is the popular Japanese singer Tamaki Nami. Summer performances were held at the Tennozu Galaxy Theater, which is located in the Tennodzu area, prototype of the Sailor Moon 3-venue.
