Writing History
The play "An Unexpected Event" was conceived as a comedy. In the process of working on the play, Ostrovsky came up with the idea of making a dramatic study out of it.
The “Unexpected Case” was completed approximately in September - October 1850 and appeared in the collection “Comet” ( 1851 ).
The first performance of the play “An Unexpected Occasion” was performed on May 1, 1902 at the Alexandrinsky Theater , in the performance of promisers and second directors.
