Description
The car is based on the Nissan B0 platform with the Nissan Juke . The platform was significantly modified to use other bridges and the Nissan All Mode 4x4-i all-wheel drive system, also used in the Renault Koleos , Nissan X-Trail , Nissan Qashqai and Nissan Juke . Available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive version. The boot capacity is 475 liters and increases to 1636 liters with the rear seats folded down. Renault Duster has a steel protection of the crankcase of the engine in the base configuration, ground clearance of 21 cm and short overhangs (angle of entry 30 °, exit 35 °).
The cost of the development was € 290 million, about 70% of the components are borrowed from existing cars [1] : front doors from Sandero , all-wheel drive system from Nissan . Using the switch, the driver can choose one of the three modes of transmission for the all - wheel drive version of the car: Auto (automatic four-wheel drive), Lock (4x4 with a locked center coupling) and 4x2 (only front-wheel drive to reduce fuel consumption).
Security
Duster is equipped with ABS Bosch 8.1 with electronic brake force distribution EBV and electronic emergency braking system EBA. All configurations, except for "Authentique" (basic equipment), are optionally equipped with an ESP stabilization system with understeer control and anti-skid with ASR function [2] . Depending on the market, it is equipped with two front airbags and three-point seat belts with pretensioners for the front seats. Also can be equipped with side airbags.

Restyling
In November 2013, a modernized crossover was introduced [3] . The car has gone through some external changes, the front panel of the cabin has been reworked, the list of equipment has expanded.
Autosport
Dacia Duster racing prototype equipped with a 350-horsepower three-liter V6 engine [4] with Alain Prost at the wheel participates in the winter series Trophee Andros. Technically, a racing car has nothing to do with the serial Duster: the chassis of this car is a spatial frame made of circular pipes, the engine is installed longitudinally in front of the rear axle, all body panels are plastic, but closely follow the shape of the serial ones [5] .
Concept car
First introduced in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show . It has four seats that can be converted into two: the passenger seat slides under the driver’s seat, and the rear right seat rises vertically. Thus, on the right, a free space of 2000 liters is formed, where the bicycle is placed [6] .
The concept is asymmetrical due to the different number of side doors. On the driver’s side, this is a sports coupe, on the opposite side - MPV with doors and body open without a central pillar [7] .
The appearance of the concept was created in the studio Renault Design Central Europe in Bucharest . Its author is a graduate of MGTU MAMI 2008 Arseny Kostromin. The salon was invented by Anna Zadnik from Croatia . The production car was developed by another group of designers. In the UK, under the brand Dacia Duster sold Romanian SUV ARO 10 with the engine Renault.
Duster in Russia
The production of Renault Duster in a modification intended for sale on the territory of Russia and the CIS countries is organized at the Avtoframos plant in Moscow on the former AZLK square . Maximum performance - about 80 thousand crossovers per year. This is almost half the maximum power of Avtoframos, where, in addition to the Duster, four more Renault models are produced: Logan, Sandero, Fluence and Megane. Production of commodity vehicles began at the end of 2011, and sales started at the beginning of 2012. The design features of the “Russian” Duster: a larger volume glass washer tank (up to 5 liters), a battery and a higher power generator, steel protection for the bottom of the power unit, the absence of a diesel particulate filter for modifications with a diesel engine, improved interior . Also, unlike in Europe, gasoline engines with a displacement of 2.0 liters and an automatic gearbox are offered. April 24, 2013 Renault Duster won the award " Car of the Year in Russia 2013" in the nomination "Compact SUVs" [8] .
In March 2019, Sr Duster cars, launched in November 2017, fell under the revocation of the company due to improper placement of the sealing membrane in the brake booster [9] .
