In 1922 he graduated from Petrograd University . In 1918 he worked at the Mobile Theater under the arm. P. P. Gaideburov as the director of mass "action". In 1920, he directed the theaters of the system of the Petrograd Department of Education and headed the Theater Department of the People's Commissariat of Education . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1941.
