Biography
Fedlimid Rehtmar was the son of the supreme king of Ireland, Tuatala Tehtmara and Bayna ( Báine ), the daughter of Scal ( Scal ) [2] .
According to medieval Irish legend and historical tradition, Tuatal Tehtmar became the supreme king after defeating his predecessor Ellim the Mac Conrach (who participated in the overthrow of Tuatal's father - Fiahi Findolayda [4] ) in a battle [3] . Tuatal Tehtmar was overthrown by the ruler of Ulster Mal poppy Roride [5]
Fedlimid Rehtmar four years after the death of his father took revenge on his murderer. Fedlimid broke Mal Mal Pockridah and himself became the supreme king of Ireland [2] . Fedlimid became famous for having streamlined legislation — he introduced the principle of talion into the legal framework. He (according to legend) completed road construction around Tara . He reigned for nine years before he died a natural death [6] . His successor was Katir Mop [7] . But after three years, he was overthrown by the son of Fedlimid - the Equestrian Hundred Battles , which became the new supreme king of Ireland [6] .
