The group’s creation date is January 23, 2007. The group began its direct public appearances no earlier than April-May 2008, when the first Dream Port concert tour took place with the collaboration of multi-instrumentalist composer Revo and Yuki Kajiura [1] . At these concerts, Wakana and Keiko were represented among the singers from Sound Horizon and FictionJunction , who then began to sing in a separate line-up on an ongoing basis with Hikaru and Maya who later joined [2] . The very word Kalafina has no meaning. Kajiura chose this name because of its special melody [3] .
At the beginning of 2015, the group performed for two days at the famous Japanese arena “ Nippon Budokan ”. In March 2016, the first joint single Kalafina was released in collaboration with the famous Japanese singer, composer and actor Shinji Tanimura called “Alcira no Hoshi” ( Japanese я ル シ ラ の 星 , “Stars of Alsira”) . On November 7, 2017, the first acoustic concert of the “Kalafina Acoustic Tour 2017 ~“ E ONE ”with Strings” tour took place at Harmony Hall Zama, Kanagawa. On January 23, 2018, the Kalafina 10th Anniversary concert was held at the Nippon Budokan Japanese Arena. The performance was dedicated to the band’s tenth anniversary. The entire set list was compiled based on the results of voting on a special site for fans [1] .
After leaving the agency, composer Yuki Kajiura (February 2018), Keiko Kubota (April 2018), Hikaru Masai (October 2018), in March 2019, the agency announced the band's breakup.
