Biography

Born on January 27, 1963 in a family of workers in the city of Kimry, Tver Region .

In 1980, he graduated from high school and entered the Moscow Construction Technical School, after which he worked in the repair and construction department.

In 1981-1983 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army .

After demobilization, he was a cell man and a subdeacon of Metropolitan Alexy of Tver and Kashinsky (Konoplev) .

In 1985 he entered the Moscow Theological Seminary .

March 9, 1987 took monastic tonsure in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra with the name Rostislav in honor of the Right Prince Rostislav Mstislavich . In the same year, on March 28, he was ordained a hierodeacon , and on May 28, at a hieromonk .

In 1988 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary.

In 1992 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy and was appointed teacher of the theological seminary.

On November 28, 1993, in the Epiphany Cathedral in Moscow, he was consecrated bishop of Magadan and Chukotka .

On February 29, 2004, Patriarch Alexy II was elevated to the rank of archbishop [2] .

Since 2011, under the leadership of Metropolitan Rostislav, attempts have been made to return the buildings of the former Tomsk Higher Military Command School of Communications and the buildings of the Tomsk Military Medical Institute . To date, the buildings have not been returned to the Church, are in disrepair and are gradually being destroyed [3]
