Biography
Born on January 27, 1963 in a family of workers in the city of Kimry, Tver Region .
In 1980, he graduated from high school and entered the Moscow Construction Technical School, after which he worked in the repair and construction department.
In 1981-1983 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army .
After demobilization, he was a cell man and a subdeacon of Metropolitan Alexy of Tver and Kashinsky (Konoplev) .
In 1985 he entered the Moscow Theological Seminary .
March 9, 1987 took monastic tonsure in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra with the name Rostislav in honor of the Right Prince Rostislav Mstislavich . In the same year, on March 28, he was ordained a hierodeacon , and on May 28, at a hieromonk .
In 1988 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary.
In 1992 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy and was appointed teacher of the theological seminary.
Bishops
November 21, 1993 was elevated to the rank of archimandrite .
On November 28, 1993, in the Epiphany Cathedral in Moscow, he was consecrated bishop of Magadan and Chukotka .
Among his many concerns for the improvement of the diocese were the preparation and ordination of new clergy, the opening of parishes, Sunday schools , and the construction of parish churches. For the speedy restoration of prayer life, private houses and public premises were adapted for temporary temples [1] .
From July 17, 1997 to March 29, 1998, he temporarily managed the Peter and Paul and Kamchatka diocese .
Since December 29, 1998 - Bishop of Tomsk and Asinovsky . Arrived in Tomsk on January 18, 1999.
Since February 16, 1999 he is the rector of the Tomsk Theological Seminary .
In February 2003 he was awarded the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh, II degree.
On February 29, 2004, Patriarch Alexy II was elevated to the rank of archbishop [2] .
Since 2011, under the leadership of Metropolitan Rostislav, attempts have been made to return the buildings of the former Tomsk Higher Military Command School of Communications and the buildings of the Tomsk Military Medical Institute . To date, the buildings have not been returned to the Church, are in disrepair and are gradually being destroyed [3]
March 24, 2013 in the cathedral Cathedral of Christ the Savior, in connection with the formation of the Tomsk Metropolis , was elevated to the rank of Metropolitan [4] .
In April 2013, the Metropolitan voiced the idea of creating an Orthodox Theological Academy in Tomsk [5] .
On February 19, 2016, Metropolitan Rostislav was awarded the “Person of the Year” prize in the Tomsk Region of the Tomsk Region [6] .
On February 21, with the participation of the Metropolitan, a cooperation agreement was signed with the Office of the Federal Service of Court Bailiffs in the Tomsk Region [7]
In May 2017, Metropolitan Rostislav announced the possibility of a genetic examination of the remains of the locally revered holy elder Theodore of Tomsk [8]
