Biography

Born December 7, 1915 in the town of Krivoy Rog in a working class family. As a child, he lived in the city of Pyatikhatki , where his father was transferred from work. He graduated from high school and fabzavuch . Since 1933 he studied at the Kiev Art Institute .

He was drafted into the Red Army in 1934. In 1936 he graduated from the Odessa Military Aviation Pilot School .

In 1938 he participated in the Spanish Civil War . He spent 27 air battles, personally shot down 3 and in a group of 6 enemy aircraft.

In 1939, he fought on the Khalkhin-Gol River , was deputy squadron commander of the 22nd Fighter Aviation Regiment . Fulfilled 79 sorties, personally shot down 2 and in a group of 9 Japanese aircraft.

In 1939-1940 he participated in the Soviet-Finnish War , being the squadron commander of the 25th Fighter Aviation Regiment . Fulfilled 29 sorties, shot down 4 Finnish planes in a group. In 1941 he joined the CPSU (b) .

In the Great Patriotic War, from June 22, 1941, as a squadron commander of the 126th Fighter Aviation Regiment , in August 1941 (according to other sources, October 4, 1941) he was appointed commander of this regiment. He won the first victory in the region of Orsha on June 29, 1941. He participated in the Bialystok-Minsk battle , in the Smolensk battle , in the defense of Moscow and in the defense of Stalingrad . The regiment under his command became one of the best regiments in the Red Army, his pilots shot down 75 German planes. The regiment fought in the 9th mixed aviation division of the Air Force of the Western Front , from October 1941 - the 6th fighter air defense corps of the Moscow Air Defense Zone , and from August 1942 - the 268th fighter aviation division of the 8th Air Army of the Stalingrad Front [1] . The regiment commander V. M. Naydenko himself carried out 186 sorties, participated in 120 air battles, shot down 5 German planes in person and 13 in the group. He fought on the fighters I-16, MiG-1, MiG-3, R-40 "Tomahawk" (since October 1941).

For courage and heroism in the Great Patriotic War, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 21, 1943, Major V. M. Naidenko was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union . In an air battle on September 3, 1942 near Stalingrad he was seriously wounded, jumped with a parachute from a burning fighter, fell into the Volga . He was saved by the sailors of one of the boats. Later, legs were amputated in the hospital. However, after treatment, he continued his service, although he was decommissioned from flying work. Since October 1943 he served as deputy commander of the 318th Fighter Aviation Division of the 1st Air Defense Air Fighter Army .

Taking part in four wars to defend the interests of the motherland, V. M. Naydenko personally shot down 10 and in a group of 32 aircraft [2] .

He served after the war, before going to reserve in 1953 .

He died on January 13, 1969 in Leningrad . He was buried at the Novo-Volkovsky cemetery.
