In 1573, the guardian of Ivan the Terrible was Polykarp Botashev [1] .

It dates back to the end of the XVI century , although, according to official figures, Ivan Batashov is recognized as the ancestor , mentioned only in 1622, as a city nobleman in Smolensk and Tula. The offspring of his two sons Autamon and Dementia lost the nobility and was recorded in the odnodvory , but at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, Andrei (1729-1799) and Ivan (1741-1821) Rodionovich Batashovs were restored and even received the Highest Approved Coat of Arms introduced in Part V of the General Stamp.

The Batashov clan, very numerous, is recorded in the VI part of the genealogical books of the provinces: Tambov, Tula, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and Kaluga [2] .
