Hyperborea
AuthorYuri Nikitin
A country Russia
Original languageRussian
Publication dates1979, 1998

The cycle shows history from a new angle, mixing epics and legends with people's feelings. It is especially worth noting how the author addresses the history of Ancient Russia - in his own special manner of humor and liberty. The story appears before the reader in the context of the culture of the described time.

In the novel "Prince Rus", the author tells of the brothers Cech, Lech and Rousse - the children of the great king Pan. They leave for northern Hyperborea, taking with them only a few friends and minions, driven by enemies and ill-wishers. Hyperborea is not empty, and the brothers have to fight for the right to own this land.

In the novel "Ingvar and Alder", events unfold in the 9th century of a new era, when a Rus tribe breaks into the lands of the Eastern Slavs . Among them - Ingvar , the son of Rurik , Prophetic Oleg - the best governor, and beloved Ingvara, Drevlyanskaya Princess Alder .

The novel in two volumes “Prince Vladimir” is a work about the third son of Prince Svyatoslav , who, having once seen Princess Anna , the daughter of the Byzantine emperor , vowed to get her hand. And for this, he is going to seize the throne and become like her. The novel is historically reliable, with the exception of two years of the life of Prince Vladimir, about which almost nothing is known.

The novel Golden Sword describes the life of a Russian officer Alexander Zasyadko .
