The Brest Millennium Monument is located in Brest , at the intersection of ul. Gogol and st. Soviet in the old part of the city. It was erected in 2009 at the expense of donations from citizens and city funds. The total height of 15 meters. Authors: architect Alexei Andreiuk , sculptor Alexei Pavluchuk. Dedicated to the Millennium of Brest.
The monument was conceived as a model of the city, expressed in historical images (Prince Vladimir Vasilkovich , Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas , as well as Nikolai Radziwill Black ) and in generalized images of city residents (chronicler, soldier, mother). All figures are placed under the cover of the Guardian Angel [1] . In April 2011, a circular high relief was installed with a total area of 11 m². It reflects 6 historical plots: the legend of the founding of the city, the construction of the city, the participation of the Beresteans in the Battle of Grunwald , the publication of the Berestey Bible, the defense of the Brest Fortress in 1941, and space exploration. Casting from bronze was carried out by Liteiny Dvor LLC (Minsk region) [2] . In the summer of 2011 , a colorful Art Nouveau fence completed the architectural ensemble of the monument [3] .
The opening of the monument was marked by an unpleasant curiosity - a total of 75 spelling mistakes were made by the authors in the inscriptions on the monument [4] .
