Vladimir Province was formed as part of the Moscow province by decree of Peter I "On the device of the provinces and on the determination of the new rulers" in 1719 . The province was divided into four districts : Vladimirsky, Vyaznikovsky, Gorokhovetsky, Murom. The provinces included the cities of Vladimir, Gorokhovets and Murom . According to the audit of 1710, there were 28.0 thousand households in the province [1] .

In November 1775, the division of provinces into provinces was canceled [2] .
