After several episodic roles in television series (“ Sex and the City ”), Brian Van Holt gained fame thanks to the participation in the film “ Black Hawk ”. In the film “ Windsliders, ” he played Private Harrigan, and a year later he was invited to the SWAT Special Forces of the City of Angels . Early years
Brian was born in Illinois, and grew up in California, in the town of Huntington Beach (Huntington Beach). Despite the fact that he had a Dutch name, in fact his ancestors were Scots and Irish. He was the youngest in the family and the only son.
At the age of 8, he independently learned how to handle a surfboard. According to his stories, he wanted to learn before, but could not afford. And then his sister, older than him for 10 years, saved money and bought him his first nursery, a simple board. A few years later he had already won surfing competitions.
Brian graduated with a degree in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At the age of 18, he was an excellent representative of surfers on the beaches of California, so producer Stefan Douglas, seeing him at the door of GAP boutique, immediately invited him to participate in a competition for fashion models advertising sportswear. Brian won the contest, leaving more than 200 contestants far behind, and immediately after that he signed a contract with the Hollywood advertising agency Jack Rose.
Then he began taking acting lessons at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. The Stanislavsky system was not very honored there, and Brian was expelled from there as a troublemaker.
Career
In the next 7 years, Brian Van Holt worked as a model, published on the pages of fashion magazines, until he was finally invited to play in small roles in television projects. And it happened in New York, where he decided to move, leaving Los Angeles.

From 2009 to 2015, he starred in the City of Predators sitcom as the ex-husband of Jules Cobb, Bobby Cobb. Since 2013, he has been acting in the TV series “Bridge” together with Diana Kruger and Demian Bichir .
He lives in the town of Venice on the California coast. In addition to surfing enjoys golf.
