2003 The Turkish Prime Minister, who visited Germany in 2003, after meeting with Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, received from the hands of the German publisher Horst Mehler the first edition of the book “Upstairs” on the situation of persons of Turkish nationality in Germany.
2003 The German publishing house Der Wirtschaftsverlag awarded Horst Mehler with the Golden Pen Award for his outstanding contribution to literature.
