Biography
Born December 22, 1914 [1] in the village of Staroaleyskoye (now the Tretyakov District of Altai Krai) in a peasant family. Russian
He worked at the Loktevsky grain farm of the Altai Territory. In 1936 he graduated from the labor faculty in Tomsk , in 1941 - Tomsk Pedagogical Institute .
In the Red Army since July 1941. He graduated from the quartermaster courses in Omsk in 1942. In the battles of World War II from April 1942. He fought on the Western, then on the Steppe fronts. The company commander of the 182nd Guards Rifle Regiment (62nd Guards Rifle Division, 37th Army, Steppe Front) of the Guard, Senior Lieutenant Kalashnikov, on September 28, 1943, was one of the first to cross the Dnieper with the company across the village of Kutsevolovka, Kirovograd Region. The company captured and held the bridgehead, repelling several enemy counterattacks, and destroyed hundreds of Nazis.
Member of the CPSU since 1943.
For these battles of the guard, senior lieutenant A.P. Kalashnikov by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 22, 1944 for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command on the front of the struggle against the Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism of the guard shown, the senior lieutenant Kalashnikov Alexander Petrovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the orders of Lenin and Red Star. The award sheet says: “A. P. Kalashnikov - commander of the 7th company of the 182th Guards of the Rifle Regiment of the 62nd Guards Rifle Division, the senior lieutenant during the crossing of the Dnieper on October 30, 1943 showed courage and heroism ” [2] .
He disappeared on October 30, 1943 in the vicinity of the village of Mishurin Rog of the Verkhnedneprovsky District of the Dnipropetrovsk Region.

Memory
- Streets in the villages of Staroaleyskoye and Kutsevolovka are named after the Hero.
- At the Victory Memorial in the village of Staroaleyskoye a bust is installed.
- A memorial plaque is installed on the building of the Tomsk Pedagogical Institute.
- The name of A. P. Kalashnikov is immortalized at the Glory Memorial in Barnaul , he is also included in the Encyclopedia of the Altai Territory [3] .
