Early years

Born on January 11, 1921 in the village of Oktyabrskoye, now Ipatovskiy District, Stavropol Territory, in a peasant family. Russian. After graduating from the 4th grade, he worked as a shepherd’s assistant. Then at the construction site of the Nevino-Myskiy channel.

During the Great Patriotic War

Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941 .

The foot reconnaissance platoon scout Levda V. T., as part of his regiment, took part in hostilities near Vilnius, Minsk, Kiev, Stalingrad, Kursk, Orel, and Dnepropetrovsk. Freed Nikolaev, Nikopol, Odessa. He was wounded three times.

April 10, 1944 , in an offensive battle near Odessa, Levda grenade destroyed the enemy firing point with the calculation, 3 Nazis captured.

By order of April 20, 1944, Levda Vasily Tarasovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd class (No. 63135) for the exemplary execution of command assignments in battles with the German fascist invaders.

On the night of May 14, 1944 , an assistant to the commander of a walking reconnaissance platoon Levda with a group of scouts made a raid to the enemy's rear near the village. the battle laid two nazis. Then he participated in repelling the enemy counter-attacks. As a result of defensive battles destroyed 6 more Nazi soldiers.

By order of May 31, 1944, Levda Vasiliy Tarasovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd class for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with the German fascist invaders.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 30, 1977, Levda Vasily Tarasovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st Degree (No. 1949) for the exemplary performance of command assignments in battles with Nazi invaders.

On November 20, 1944 , an intelligence reconnaissance platoon of the same regiment, the division (53rd Army, 2nd Ukrainian Front ) Levda V. T. with a group of reconnaissance troops marched into the enemy rear (15 km west of Eger , Hungary ) and captured captive two nazis. Then, being in a night ambush destroyed up to 10 enemy soldiers, 1 was taken prisoner.

Post-war time

After the war, Vasily Tarasovich demobilized, returned to his native October. He worked as a foreman, farm manager, he worked on the collective farm to them. Married, three children (son Ivan, daughters Evdokia and Antonina).
