Kukovici is a village, the center of the village council. Located on the right bank of the Desna River, 12 km from the district center and 10 km from the Makoshino railway station on the Bakhmach - Novobelitskaya line. The population is 1380 people. Settlements Kukovichsky, Memory of Lenin, Chervony Lighthouse are subordinate to the Village Council.

History
Kukovichi have been known since the beginning of the 18th century. Soviet power was established in January 1918. In 1923, the first collective farm, the Mayak, arose. At the fronts of World War II, 445 local residents fought, 138 of them were awarded orders and medals of the USSR, 298 were killed. A monument was erected in the village in honor of the soldiers who died during the liberation of the village, as well as those who died from wounds in a military hospital in 1941, and the obelisk of Glory in honor of fellow soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their homeland.
