History

In Russia, at the beginning of the 18th century, a naval flag with an oblique blue Andreevsky cross was introduced. After the October Revolution of 1917 on the ships of the Soviet Navy in 1918-1920, the state and military flags of the RSFSR were raised, approved on April 14, 1918 by Sov. by the government. September 29, 1920 approved the naval flag of the RSFSR. In connection with the formation of the USSR, a new naval flag of the USSR was introduced (August 24, 1923). On June 19, 1942, the Guards Naval Flag was introduced. In some states, the naval flag differs from the state flag in colors, patterns (for example, the USSR, Great Britain, Japan) or only in shape (for example, Denmark, Sweden, Norway), in a number of states the naval flags are the same as the state flag (for example, USA, Spain, Turkey). Flag sizes are set depending on the class of ships and vessels [1] .
