Oscar award to the best choreographer

The Oscar award to the best choreographer is an award from the American Film Academy , which was awarded annually from 1936 to 1938. The award was received by a choreographer who staged one or more dance numbers for a movie. The category has been abolished since 1939 .

The names of the winners are highlighted in bold type , in parentheses are the names of the musical compositions for which dance numbers were created.
