The Junta of Galicia is the executive authority of the Autonomous Region of Galicia [1] . The Chairman of the Junta of Galicia is elected by the Parliament of Galicia . Vice-chairmen of the government and advisers are appointed by the chairman [2] .
History
The junta of Galicia was established in 1981 after the approval of the Status of Autonomy. The name Junta originates from the Junta of the Kingdom of Galicia, established in 1528 and ruling with some interruptions until 1833. Now the term Junta is more used to define self-proclaimed regimes.
The modern-day Junta of Galicia was in the draft Status of Autonomy of Galicia in 1936, but the Status was not approved in connection with the Spanish Civil War .
