Technical Features
The device has an ARM11 Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 MHz processor [2] . The Samsung i7500 3.5G smartphone works in the (900/1700/2100) GSM and HSDPA ranges (however, the official Samsung pages for the Danish version only mention the dual-band UMTS 900/2100). The phone has a 3.2-inch AMOLED screen , a capacitive touchscreen , a 5- megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, a digital compass. Unlike the first Android phone, HTC Dream (G1), the i7500 has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, and a navigation key instead of a trackball.
The i7500 software offers a suite of Google applications, including Google Search, Gmail , YouTube , Google Calendar , and Google Talk . The phone supports GPS and allows you to use the features of Google Maps , such as My Location, Google Latitude , and Google Street View . Also supports MP3 , AAC (including iTunes Plus downloads), WMA audio and H.264 video, the beta version supports Spotify music downloads via the Android Marketplace.
The disadvantages of this model are a very small amount of application memory, and errors in the firmware of the device. The consequence of these errors is a very short operating time of the device and the lack of full support for the Russian language, the flash greatly illuminates the shooting objects located in half a meter, there is no indication of unviewed SMS or missed calls off the screen. It should be noted that Samsung officially refused to update the firmware version and fix known errors.
The advantage of this model can be called: build quality, a 3.5-mm headphone jack, hardware keys for hanging up and raising the handset, the presence of a flash, and the absolute viewing angles of the display.

Samsung i7500 is available in Austria , Germany , Israel , France , Poland , Serbia , Slovenia , Turkey , Great Britain , more recently, in Russia . Also sells T-Mobile in several other markets, including the United States .
In October 2009, it became the first android phone released in Brazil via Telecom Italia Mobile.
O2 is about to begin selling the smartphone in November 2009. The Samsung i7500 is also available in Canada as the Samsung Galaxy from Bell Mobility. The i7500 is also validated for sales in India from Tata Docomo , Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. Univercell, an Indian mobile retailer, offers an unlocked model for INR 15,400 ($ 332). The promotion is valid until January 25, 2010.
Device Criticism
Due to the fact that Samsung did not release firmware updates, the phone received a lot of criticism from users of Galaxy phones. A petition requesting a firmware update was signed by more than 8,000 people.
For some countries, Samsung has released firmware up to version 1.6 (Donut). Users of other countries can download it and update manually, but this will void the warranty.
