Island approx. 0.8 km. The island has a tall lighthouse built in 1879, architect Axel Hampus Dalström, visible from afar. [one]
Previously, the lighthouse used a radioisotope source of energy and the island is contaminated with radioactive waste. Finnish local historian Juha Taskinen , measured that on the very shore of the island the level of radioactivity corresponds to the background; when approaching the lighthouse, the level of radioactivity increases sharply: Near the lighthouse - 76 µR / hour , and near the steel door reaches 90 µR / hour.
