Yuri Nikolayevich Kleshchev ( November 10, 1930 , Moscow - May 31, 2005 , Moscow ) - Soviet volleyball coach, referee, writer, teacher. Honored Trainer of the USSR (1965). Judge of the All-Union Category (1971). Honored Worker of Physical Culture of the RSFSR (1989).

Senior coach of the USSR men's volleyball team (1963-1969), which twice led to the title of Olympic champions (1964 and 1968), winner of the 1965 World Cup, 1967 European champion, 1969 bronze medalist, 1966 world championship and 1963 European championship.
Biography
In 1953 he graduated from the State Central Order of Lenin Institute of Physical Culture (GTsOLIFK). Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences (1963) (thesis topic: "Organizational and methodological foundations of a system of long-term training of teams of the highest level in volleyball"), professor of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Volleyball of the Russian State Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism (RSUFK) (1984), member correspondent of the International Academy of Informatization (1995).
Yu. N. Kleshchev is the author of more than 100 scientific papers on volleyball topics.
He prepared 9 candidates of sciences, 30 honored masters of sports, 10 honored trainers of the USSR and Russia.
He was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1993), medals.
He died in Moscow on May 31, 2005 . He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery .
