Biography

He began his career in New Zealand and Australian clubs. In January 2005, he moved to the English club Mansfield Town , for which he played only 5 matches, of which Smelts started only one match in the first team. The next club was Smelts AFK "Wimbledon", created by fans of the bankrupt " Wimbledon " and playing in the regional league. Having played another season for Halifax Town , struggling to survive in the Conference (League 5), Smeltz returned to his homeland, to the Wellington Phoenix club, created that year and announced to participate in the Australian championship . In Wellington, Smeltz proved to be a good striker, distinguishing himself 12 times in the 2008/09 season, becoming the league's top scorer.
