Biography

In early childhood, she was left without parents and brought up in an orphanage. At the age of fifteen, she began her career biography - she worked in the sewing workshop of the First Kiev shoe factory.

She graduated from the Kiev Institute of Public Education and graduate school at the Institute of Jewish Culture of the National Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR . During World War II, she was evacuated to Ufa .

At the beginning of her career, Balyasnaya belonged to the youth organizations “Molodnyak”, VUSPP . She took an active part in the literary life of the republic, being a member of the Jewish section of the Union of Writers of Ukraine and editor in publishing houses.

On May 6, 1952, the writer was arrested on charges of counter-revolutionary nationalist activity. During the investigation, she became seriously ill. Despite this, by the decision of the Special Meeting of August 23, 1952, Balyasnaya was sentenced to 10 years in concentration camps.

Upon arrival at the Inta train station near Vorkuta, where the term of serving the sentence was fixed, the baluster from the carriage on a stretcher was transferred to the camp hospital. The writer was in the camp for disabled prisoners for more than four years. In early 1956 she was released as a result of a review of her case and rehabilitation for the lack of corpus delicti. She died on October 1, 1980 in Kiev .

She made her debut in literature in 1928. She printed verses in Jewish periodicals of Ukraine, Moscow, Minsk. The author of the books "In Iberuf" (roll call) 1934; Lichtike Stegkes (Bright Paths) 1940; Golden Bletherphalus (Golden Leaf Fall) 1978. A total of 15 of her books have been published.
