On June 24, 1941, it holds the defense in the strip of the 5th Infantry Division with the front edge of Shmotai, Virbalai, the Viliya River.

On June 25, 1941, during a counterattack on Kaunas, the 2nd division is moving forward with the 5th Infantry Division with the task of concentrating in the area of ​​Albertov, Kisyalishkiai, Baltraky, and the 1st Division is advancing with the 33rd Infantry Division along the Jonava Highway Kaunas, with the task of concentrating in the area of ​​Meshkonyai, Baeriškiai, Venice.

On June 27, 1941, he received an order to retreat to Levaniskis after the 33rd Infantry Division , then through Shesuolai, Pozelva and concentrate in the forest northwest of Ashkina.

On June 30 - July 1, 1941, retreats along with the 33rd Infantry Division with the task of concentrating in the Vidze area.

On July 9-10, 1941, together with the 33rd Infantry Division, makes a march along the route Idritsa , Marina, Rechki, Leshany, Ledovo, Krushinino with the task of concentrating by the morning of July 10, 1941 in the area of ​​Kuralikhino, Kaptevo, Loskutsky. It fights there.

In the second half of July 1941 he put himself in order in Valdai . Since August 1941, again sent to the forefront.

Counterattack in the area of ​​Staraya Russa, Hill (1941)

Participates in the counterattack of August 1941 near Staraya Russa. At the end of August - September 1941 it was surrounded in the area of Demyansk , together with the 163rd Motorized Division , the 257th and 259th Rifle Divisions. He left the encirclement on September 13, 1941, but the material part (17 guns, to which there were 60 shells and a tractor) was forced to leave on the territory occupied by the enemy.

1942

Toropetsky-Kholmsky offensive operation (1942)

In December 1941 he was transferred to positions in the area of ​​Lake Seliger , became part of the 4th shock army as an army artillery regiment.

Since January 9, 1942, it has been advancing in the general direction to Peno - Andreapol - Toropets . One division is advancing along with the 360th Infantry Division , the 62nd Separate Ski Battalion , the 171st Separate Tank Battalion in the direction of Bolshaya Antonovschina, Glazuny, Naumovo. The second division comes along with the 51st rifle brigade , the 67th separate ski battalion , 68th separate ski battalion in the direction of Zhukovo, Pikhten and Orlinka. Two more divisions supported the advance of the strike group from the 249th Infantry Division and the 332th Infantry Division , advancing on Peno , Andreapol .

January 24-25, 1942 with one weapon he participated in the battles for the Nelids .

During 1942 it is located in the Velizh area.

Velikiye Luki offensive operation (1942)

Supports the troops of the 3rd shock army during the Velikiye Luki offensive operation.

Rzhev-Vyazem offensive operation (1943)

June 20, 1943 transformed into the 164th Guards Artillery Regiment .
