Lady oscar

“Lady Oscar” ( fr. Lady Oscar ) is a historical feature film based on the story of the manga by Ryoko Ikeda “The Rose of Versailles ”. In Japan, released under the name "Rose of Versailles" ( Jap. ら ル サ イ ユ の ば ら Berusayu no bar ) . The writer and director of the film was Jacques Demi , the music was written by the composer Michel Legrand . Filming took place in France with the help of Japanese companies Toho and Nippon Television Network .

Story

Oscar is a young girl ( Ekaterin McCall ), whose father dreamed of a boy. After the birth of his daughter, he began to dress her in men's suits and raised him like a son. Oscar achieves great success in his military career and falls into the royal guard of Marie-Antoinette (Christine Bom). In her youth, Oscar fell in love with Andre (Barry Stokes), the son of the housekeeper in their father’s house. And now, years later, when the Great French Revolution begins, the paths of Oscar and Andre cross again: they fight on opposite sides of the barricades.
