Namm show

NAMM Show is one of the largest exhibitions of musical instruments and equipment in the world. Held every January in the Californian city of Anaheim in one of the largest exhibition centers - Anaheim Convention Center . The organizer is the National Association of Music Merchants , from whose abbreviation the name of the event is formed.

Larger than the NAMM Show, perhaps only the MusikMesse exhibition, which takes place annually in Frankfurt , Germany . Unlike many other similar shows (for example, the Moscow specialized exhibition Music-Moscow), the NAMM Show is closed to ordinary visitors, and only participants in the music market and specially invited guests can get acquainted with the latest music technologies. In 2008, 1,560 participants and 88,100 visitors were registered here.

An integral or even mandatory part of the show is the presence of music journalists who are in a hurry to cover thousands of presentations of new products from leading music producers. Some publications, such as Music Trades [1] , even issue special NAMM issues of their magazines for distribution during the exhibition. The organizers themselves also issue a special NAMM directory and daily distribute the Upbeat magazine, which publishes the latest NAMM Show news.

Another association event is the so-called. Summer NAMM , which usually takes place in June / July and is inferior in scope to the winter show. Its main goal is not the product exhibition itself, but the opportunity to focus on business meetings and discussion of areas for further business development. Summer NAMM 2010 was held June 18-20, 2010 in Nashville , Tennessee .

The National Association of Music Producers was founded in 1901 . Now the organization includes more than 9000 companies from the USA and more than 100 companies from other countries. To support individual participants and companies, the association provides an opportunity to learn more about the industry at NAMM University , publishes unique and interesting reports, collects statistics and brings together industry members, organizing various events and large meetings. Profits from exhibitions are sent back to the music industry: financing charitable programs, supporting human rights activities and programs to strengthen the market and introduce innovations.
