Miaoing's history
Temples on this territory were built during the Liao and Yuan dynasties. The famous White Pagoda was also built during the Yuan Dynasty. However, most modern buildings date from the time of the Ming Empire . During the Ming Dynasty, the temple also received its modern name, Miaoing in translation means - Divine Retribution .
In 1976, the Tangshan earthquake caused significant damage to the temple complex. The top of the pagoda squinted, in some places bricks spilled out of the masonry. Therefore, in 1978, large-scale restoration and restoration work was carried out, during which many previously hidden values were also found [1] .
