Copper (I) Acetate (СН 3 СООСu) - a copper compound, has the form of colorless crystals. In water, it slowly hydrolyzes to Cu 2 O; in air, it is oxidized to divalent copper acetate; gives adducts with organic matter.

CH 3 COOCu is obtained by reduction of (CH 3 COO) 2 Cu with hydrogen or copper, sublimation of (CH 3 COO) 2 Cu in vacuo or by reacting (NH 3 OH) SO 4 with (CH 3 COO) 2 Cu in the presence of a solution. H 3 COONH 3 ; phenol oxidation catalyst. The substance is toxic.
