Pyatnitskoe (Kharkov region)

Pyatnitskoye village is located on the left (mainly) bank of the Bolshaya Babka River , upstream at a distance of 4 km is the village of Velikaya Babka (Chuguevsky district) , downstream at a distance of 5.5 km is the village of Kitsevka . At 6 km is located Pecheneg reservoir . The village is surrounded by a large forest (oak).

• 1818 - date of foundation.

During the Great Patriotic War, during the spring offensive of the Nazi forces in 1943, the village became the scene of fierce fighting ^[1] . On March 23, 1943, in a four-hour unequal battle while repelling three enemy tank attacks, artillery soldier Dair Asanov killed eight tanks , six armored vehicles and destroyed up to forty enemy machine gunners. ^[2] In this battle, Alexei Nazarov, as part of the calculation, destroyed four enemy tanks. After the calculation failed, the Red Armyman Nazarov A.P. destroyed four more enemy tanks and carried out the wounded platoon commander from the battlefield. Alexander Dyomin put forward his gun for direct fire and opened fire on attacking enemy tanks. When part of the artillerymen of his calculation fell out of order, Demin stood up to the guns and personally destroyed 4 tanks. Demin’s actions allowed to keep the occupied line, but he died in that battle.

• Mass grave of Soviet soldiers, among which Alexander Dyomin , Hero of the Soviet Union and a memorial sign to fellow soldiers, is buried. 295 soldiers were buried.
