Story

14 years ago, Gin, the leader of the Ou Mountains, overthrew the demonic bear Akakabuto, who invaded Futago Pass. He applied Buttog, Wolf strike, and thereby defeated him. After this victory, this place was called Dog Paradise and blocked the road to it. Gin and his comrades lived in peace and tranquility, but suddenly a terrible monster attacked them. The leader’s friend, Sakur, thanks to Smith, managed to be taken to a safe place.

And now 6 months have passed. The English setter JB, hunting, came across a puppy of the Akita Inu breed , who was trying to steal food from him. The puppy was of brindle color, like Gin. Hearing the story of his sick mother, JB took pity and gave him the booty. But when JB returned to his leader Nero, he demanded to find him prey before sunset. JB sat and wondered where to find food, because there was a guard dog on the farm where Nero sent him. And then he saw his friend Sasuke, who did not know about the guard dog, and decided to use it. And perhaps Sasuke would have died if not for that puppy. During a fight with a guard dog, that puppy felt uncontrollable anger inside himself and, not knowing how, applied Battougou. All this was accidentally seen by a dog named Smith, a veteran of the war with Akakabuto. Smith realized that this puppy is the son of the Leader. After that, they go to Sakura, where Smith makes a promise to escort her son to the Ou mountains, after which Sakura dies. The next morning, GB gives the puppy the name “Weed” and they set off on a journey to search for the Ou Mountains, Dog Paradise.

Weed has a lot to go through. First they get to the city, where they fight with a dog nicknamed Blue (Blue). After they get to the Ou mountains, but there they are waiting for a fight with the Beast that captured Paradise. During the battle with the Beast, Weed meets new friends who will complement his team. Among them are bosom friends, sons of veterans of the Gore Ou, Great Dane Ken and kai Kagetora, as well as five killer dogs that were hired to destroy the Beast, led by the German shepherd Jerome, who later becomes Weed's best friend. In a battle with the Beast, four out of five killer dogs, as well as veteran Smith, die.

And now, when the battle with the Beast is already behind, a new danger appears on the horizon: the treacherous Hogen from the Southern Alps comes to the Ou mountains to capture them. He takes by surprise the three leaders of the Ou Mountains - Gin, Akame and John. While Gin and John held back the onslaught of the Hogen warriors, Akame managed to escape in order to find Weed. Gina and John were captured. Now Weed, with his new friends, must find and save his father, and then become the new leader of the Ou mountains. During his journey, Weed will meet even more new friends, defeat enemies, increase his army, held together by good, and learn the real techniques of the Zetsu Tenro Batoga. This will be the true Legend of the Silver Fang of Weed.

Characters

  • Weed is a tiger puppy of akita inu , a cross with pussycat . The son of Gin and Sakura, subsequently the new leader of the Ou mountains. Born after the departure of his father from the Ou mountains. During Pi4's attack on the Ou Mountains, old Smith took Sakura away from danger. But Sakura was not able to stay with Weed for long because of the disease that hit her. Weed met JB, Sasuke, and Smith while he was looking for food for his mother. After the death of Sakura, he went in search of his father. On his way there were many obstacles. Starting with a simple Beast, ending with the Great Dane Hogen.
  • GB is an English setter . The first acquaintance of Weed. Previously, he worked for Nero for food and shelter. JB is a rather cowardly dog and often does not mind stopping for a bite to eat. But sometimes it can take the initiative and provide invaluable assistance to your friends. Smith once saved his life. In the end, it turned out that JB was also Weed's godmother.
  • Smith is a French spaniel , an old officer in the Oy mountains. From a young age he was familiar with Gin. Dying from the clutches of the Beast, trying to save everyone he once loved. Throughout the journey in the gang, Weed considered himself a burden to travelers. But his opinion of himself as an old man changed at the time of the arrival of Jerome and his company. He realized that his past years might have left, but he himself still lives. In order to prove this to himself, he decided to jump on three paws a huge abyss, which he easily jumped in his youth. Initially, Smith did not believe that Weed was the son of Gin, but his doubts were dispelled by the crown stroke of Buttog, with which his father cut off the head of the demonic bear Akakabuto.
  • Jerome is a German shepherd . The dog, who once worked in the Pi 4 research lab, spent half his life there, but at the time of the Monster's escape, he and the other survivors had to follow him to eliminate him. So he got into the mountains of Ou and met with Weed. Before the escape of Pi 4 from the laboratory, Jerome was his best friend and the only dog who did not turn his back on him because he had an extraordinary appearance. After Jerome saw the death of Smith and all his comrades, he realized that he was doing wrong, and decided to kill the monsters by sacrificing his own life. But Weed, Ken and Kagetora pushed Pi 4 into the abyss and saved the life of Jerome, for which he vowed to protect Weed and help him.
  • Gin - akita inu of brindle color. The leader of the Oy mountains. Son of Ricky and Fuji and father of Weed. He appears after the death of Pi 4 and is immediately captured by Hogen. However, does not lose its calmness and ability to think sensibly. Diplomat. Unlike his friend John, he is not sharp on the tongue and prefers to remain silent. He became famous for his blow called Zetsu Tenro Battoga. To them, he cut off the head of the huge bear Akakabuto.
  • Akame - Kishu Inu . From childhood, Akame grew up in the Iga clan. He later became his wise leader, but due to wars, the Iga clan eventually fell, and Akame joined Gin.
  • John is a German shepherd. One of the followers of Gin. John was brought from Germany and taken by a young hunter. From childhood, he was trained, just like Gina, but for hunting for game, not for bears.
  • Hiro is a Pyrenean mountain dog . Hiro had a very difficult childhood. Before his eyes, his father, the leader of a small group of dogs, died from the clutches of a traitor named Kamakiri. After that, he became an outcast and decided to wander the world as a loner. But quite by accident he wanders into the territory of Hogen. There he was badly wounded, but he made new friends and vowed to be with them to the end. Weed helps a lot, defeating the commander-in-chief under Hogen, and also the murderer of his father, Kamakiri. But, considering that his father was avenged, he did not kill the traitor, but simply let him go.
  • Rocketto - Russian canine greyhound . Like most greyhounds, a rocketto can run very fast. This skill was highly praised by Hogen, who ordered the three Borzoi brothers to go in search of the Oy army, track down their leader and kill him. They did a great job of part of their mission: Roquetto infiltrated the Weed flock under the guise of a friendly friend, and then, choosing the right moment, grabbed the puppy and disappeared from sight. Before the assassination of Wade, Rocatto and his two brothers, Jet and Missel, decided to teach the puppy a lesson so that he no longer trusted the first comers, but Jerome who appeared on time defeated the three brothers in a few minutes. However, Weed showed mercy and released the spies of Hogen. Amazed at this kindness, Rocatto decided to rejoin Weed, this time for real. On the way, he proved his loyalty when, almost at the cost of his own life, he saved JB and Weed from falling into the abyss. So Rocatto joined the army of Ou and fought on its side until the very end.
  • Kiyoshiro - Kishu Inu . Explosive nature. Not a restrained puppy, but a born leader and fighter with adults. I never liked to do what he was told. Kiyoshiro swore to Weed for help in the fight with Lector and Thunder.
  • Teru's father (name unknown) is a purebred dog. Together with his son, Teru lived on the territory of the Kiyoshiro flock, but was not a full member of it. At the time of his first appearance in the series, he beat his son, deciding that he had stolen his food. Kiosiro, who noticed this, decided to punish the bad-headed father, and, despite the intercession of Weed, bit his father Teru's ear and threw him off a cliff. He also forbade him from approaching Ter. Of course, Father Ter wanted to take revenge, and the chance for this appeared almost immediately. The lecturer and Thunder, sent by Hogen to kill Kiyoshiro, immediately realized that Teru's father could become a reliable ally to them. With the help of Teru's father, they ambushed Kiyoshiro and Weed, thereby provoking a fight. However, during the battle, Teru's father's opinion of Kiyoshiro began to change. First of all, he was struck by the fact that, despite his betrayal, Kiyoshiro was ready to protect him from Dobermann killers. Then, when his son Teru was taken hostage, trying to help Kiyoshiro, his father threw off his cowardice and fought bravely to save his son. He succeeded, but he was seriously injured and died a few minutes after the fight. Before his death, he begged his son to forgive him for everything, but Teru did not have time to do this. Teru's father died, barely having time to look at his son.
  • Teru is a purebred dog. He lived in Kiyoshiro with his father, who often beat him. During the next beating for the puppy, Chiosiro intervened. Teru was delighted with the strong and courageous dog who punished his vile father and was so kind to the puppy. He began everywhere to follow Kiyoshiro, to obey his orders, to admire everything, to do something. In the end, he even encouraged the leader to kill his father. This made Kiyoshiro lay siege to the puppy because the dog did not want Teru to become violent. Kiyoshiro allowed Ter to stay with him while the rest of their pack sought Thunder and Lector. He behaved with him like a loving father, which made the puppy more enthusiastic about him. But just a few minutes later, Teru was taken hostage by Lecturer and Thunder. He behaved very bravely and asked Kiyoshiro to let him die for the sake of other dogs from their pack. Kiyoshiro was very impressed with this speech and was ready to give his life to save Teru. But Weed's intervention saved both of them. During the fight with the Dobermans, Teru tried to take his son away, but he refused to obey him and rushed to the aid of Kiyoshiro. The puppy was again taken hostage, but was saved by his father. He received serious wounds and died immediately after the fight. Teru posthumously forgave him everything and went on with Kiyoshiro and Weed. He was later left by them in the village of Koga along with other puppies from the Kiosiro flock. Teru vehemently protested against this decision, because he was ready to die for the sake of his friends. But Weed assured him that life was much better than death, and that Ter would do them all more good if he stayed here. Teru obeyed. Neither he nor the other puppies from the Kiosiro flock appeared in the series.
  • Tessin - Shikoku Inu . Kurozaki's son from Ginga Nagareboshi Gin . After Gin defeated Akakabuto, Tessin returned to his homeland to lead the Koga clan, which his father had previously ruled. He, with the help of Elder Tyuro, who survived the fire in which Kurozaki and all the other ninjas died, trained several dogs and restored the clan. One day, Weed comes into his territory, introducing himself as the son of the famous leader Gin, and asks Tessin for help so that he joins Ou's army and helps defeat Hogen. Tessin rejects such an offer, since he considers it his initial duty to care for an elder who is gradually losing the ability to walk. Nonetheless, Tyuro suddenly appeared, dissuading his student and asking Tessin to reconsider his opinion. Inspired by the words of the mentor, Kurozaki’s son leaves the clan’s territory and sets off not to search for the wounded leader. Having easily found him in an abandoned barn, he talks with Gin, more and more convinced that the situation is becoming more complicated and the precarious world in the Ou mountains is again violated. The leader’s last request shocked Tessin - Gin asked to kill him that Hogen did not use him as an important hostage. Having refused, the leader of the Koga-clan leaves the territory of Hogen, returning to himself. Shortly after this, he helps the Weed army and reports that it is now part of the Oy army and will accompany the new leader on his journey to the end. It was Tessin who opened for Wid the famous Battug Wolfstroke technique, with which Gin cut off the head of the demonic bear Akakabuto. He taught the leader’s son the basics of this technique, because he himself did not understand it perfectly. In the end, he became one of Ou's army generals, battling General Hogen, Kite. Having defeated with the help of cunning, Kurozaki’s son showed mercy and gave life to the enemy.
  • Hogen - Danish Great Dane of marble color. Hogen was born in a shelter for stray dogs. Together with his brother Gamba, they came up with a plan on how to get out of there, as a result of which they embarked on the path of cannibalism. In the middle of the saga, he declares himself the successor of Gin, capturing the latter. He cherishes the dream of capturing the Ou Mountains, gathering for this a huge army of seven hundred dogs. His plans were almost successful, but in time, Weed, the son of a true leader, came to the rescue of his father, and then, together with his army, overthrows the rebellious Great Dane. Hogen’s death in the manga and anime is different: in the manga, he is killed by a person who has long followed the cannibal brothers and wants to avenge the death of his partner; in the anime, he went crazy due to a severe head wound and because of this he climbs to the very top of Mount Gajo, where he dies from a lightning strike.
  • Gemba - Great Dane of marble color. Gamba was born at the shelter with his brother Hogen. Unlike his brother, Gamba was not so skilled as a tactician and warrior, which ultimately leads to his death. In the middle of the saga, he arrives on the territory of Ou with a huge army of dogs to capture Gajo before the arrival of Hogen. He manages to achieve the goal through enormous losses: the four sons of Tyutora defended Paradise until one of them escaped from the battlefield towards Mutsu to ask for help from Gin's old friends. In revenge, Gamba killed the remaining three brothers, and threw their bodies into a stormy river. Later, after meeting with his brother, he, at the request of the latter, gets out of cover to search for females in the vicinity. He is accompanied by the combat tosa Toube. However, Gamba's group meets with Sigure, the only surviving son of Tutora, and the sons of Kisaragi, the great General Mutsu, a veteran of the war against Akakabuto. There is a battle to which Weed joins with his army and Kurotor, the uncle of the dead nephews who wanted revenge. Gamba fought with Akame for a while, but Weed prevented him. The battle between the two leaders was not destined to happen, since Tessin and Sigure attacked Hogen's brother together and, having thrown off the mountain, injured his head. At the end, Gambu was brought to Gajo by subordinates, where he woke up and attacked the dogs, and then his brother. Hogen killed him, thus stopping suffering.
  • Kamakiri is an Irish wolfhound , an insidious and greedy dog-killer. In his youth, he was a subordinate of Yukimasa, Hiro's father, but he did not like this role and he decided, in agreement with the rest of the rebels, to kill his leader. Their plan was put in place a few days later. Little Hiro was forced to watch his father mercilessly torn to pieces. In the end, Kamakiri deprived the little puppy of his eyes, but did not have time to kill, because someone appeared compassionate and saved the leader’s son. Nevertheless, his whole life was destroyed and he was forced to choose the path of a lone, useless wanderer. Meanwhile, Kamakiri was building up its forces, capturing all nearby territories. At some point, rumors reached him that the Great Dane Hogen had captured the leader of the Ou mountains and was now looking for allies for a full-scale invasion of Paradise. This led the wolfhound to recruit several more warriors in the lands where Rocatto was once born. At this point, the pack of Weed also arrived on this territory and met with the army of Kamakiri, taking him for the leader of the clan. Hiro, who by that time had joined the Ou army, recognized the old killer of his father as a wolf. There was a battle that was interrupted by people who started shooting dogs. Kamakiri, along with his army, left the occupied territory and gradually reached the lands of Hogen. The meeting with him ended deplorably for him: the Great Dane, who saw the greedy little soul in him, immediately, through threats, warned of the consequences of betrayal. At the end, Kamakiri nevertheless acted in his own way: violating Hogen’s ban on approaching the enemy army, he thought he could deal with Wid’s small detachment, but Hiro, who came to the aid, attacked the long-standing murderer Yukimasa. The battle did not last long and ended in the complete defeat of Kamakiri. However, Hiro showed mercy to his old enemy and allowed the second to leave, however, a wolfhound devoid of fangs could only eat rats.
  • Kaybutsu - (P4, The Beast) - the result of experiments conducted by people on him, for which he vowed revenge on people.
  • The lecturer and Thunder are the Doberman , the treacherous Doberman brothers and subjects of Hogen. Together with his brother, they received a decree to find Kiyoshiro and kill him so as not to allow him to enter into an alliance with Weed. These plans were not destined to come true, because by that time the leader of the Ou mountains had already agreed on an alliance with the leaders of Sigi. A fierce struggle ensued, during which one of the brothers lost their front fangs, and the second was badly wounded. Despite their disgusting thoughts, Weed shows nobility and lets go of assassins. However, this did not stop them from attacking Weed again in a small abandoned barn, where, as Akita thought, his father Gin was held hostage. The next fight ended just like the first: the second brother lost his front fangs, and they were again released. At this point, Jerome, the subordinate and best friend of Weed, decided to neglect the decree of the leader and followed the brothers. Having overheard their conversation about the next plan to kill the leader Oy's son, the German Shepherd attacks them and kills.

  • Sigure - kai-ken. Son of Tutory and nephew of Kurotor. The last of the brothers who survived the battle with the army of Gamba. Differences between Manga and Anime

In the anime, there are not so many moments, or they are slightly redone, like a battle against Akakabuto. Brutal scenes like the death of Nero, many intersections of heroes have been removed. Many characters are missing, including those from the previous Ginga Nagareboshi Gin manga. Manga continued to be released after the anime ended and therefore more characters appeared there (monkeys, hybrid bears, German shepherds from Russia).
