Franzbretchen
Franzbrötchen ( German Franzbrötchen - “Franz Bun”) is a special shaped sweet bun made of puff pastry with cinnamon . Flour , butter , yeast , milk , sugar and a pinch of salt are necessary for the test. A traditional filling is a mixture of sugar with cinnamon. Also, sometimes raisins , marzipan and pumpkin are added to the filling. Franzbretchen comes from Hamburg , where traditionally served for breakfast. According to one version, franzbretchen is like a croissant that appeared in Hamburg during the occupation of the city by Napoleon’s troops
