Charles Tate Regan is a British ichthyologist who worked in the early 20th century mainly on the classification of fish.

Born in Sherborne , Dorset ; studied at School and Queens College , University of Cambridge . In 1901 he was admitted to the Museum of Natural History , where he became the keeper of the zoology department, and later the director of the museum (1927-1938).
Regan was elected a member of the Royal Society in 1917.
Charles Regan led the work of a number of young scientists. Among them was Ethelwynn Trewavas ( Eng. Ethelwynn Trewavas ), who continued to work in the Museum of Natural History .
