Steve Newbury ( born April 21, 1956 , Neath , Wales ) is a Welsh former professional snooker player . He became a professional in 1984 after a successful amateur career. Newbury's best achievements in ranking tournaments are several quarter-finals and one semi-final (at the Mercantile Credit Classic 1988 ). Three times (in 1989 , 1990 and 1991 ) entered the final stage of the World Cup . Newbury's best rating is the 19th ( 1989/90 Season ) [1] .
