The company was founded in 1989 as a result of the association of SAIA (SOCIÉTÉ ANONYME DES INTERRUPTEURS AUTOMATIQUES) founded in 1920 in Bern and founded in 1935 in the UK Burgess Products Ltd.
Since the 1950s, Saia has been manufacturing a wide range of buttons and limit switches. In 1978, the first Saia programmable logic controllers (PLCs) went on sale, one of the first PLCs on the market. In the early 90s, Saia-Burgess developed a full range of hardware and software for SCADA systems and HMIs . Currently, the main focus of Saia-Burgess is the development of web and IT technologies in industrial controllers [1] . In 1995, Saia-Burgess Electronics was acquired by the Hong Kong company Johnson Electric, the largest motor manufacturer in China and one of the largest in the world. Saia-Burgess motors and microswitches were fully integrated into Johnson Electric, and controllers and HMI panels were converted to Saia-Burgess Controls. In October 2012, Honeywell announced the acquisition of Saia-Burgess Control, which was impressed by the pace of growth and popularity in the European market. [2] In Russia, Saia-Burgess Controls is represented by its official distributor, Sia Burgess Controls Rus
