Publius Cornelius Scipio Orestin is the son of Publius Cornelius Scipio (praetor in the year 7) and the father of Libya Cornelius Orestilla , the second wife of the emperor Caligula . According to the assumption of Ronald Syme , he was the son of Publius Cornelius Lentulus Scipio ( consul-suffice in the year 2 C.E.) However, from the inscription [1] [2] it follows that the father of Publius Cornelius Scipio Orestin did not hold a consular post, and his grandfather was named Publius , which proves the fallacy of this version.
Publius Cornelius Scipio Orestin held the posts of military tribune and decemvira for resolving litigation. He died in his youth [1] [2] .
