Biography
In 1786 he entered the Naval Cadet Corps , in 1789 he was promoted to midshipman , and in the same year, while on the Svyatoslav ship , he took part in the battle with the Swedes near the island of Bornholm , and the following year, being part of the ship’s crew Do not touch me, ”continued his participation in naval battles with the Swedes.

At the end of hostilities, Stozhevsky was appointed head of the 1st brigade of the 4th naval division of the Black Sea Fleet . Appointed the head of the 3rd detachment, Stozhevsky, commanding a detachment of three ships and two bombing ships, in 1833 went from Sevastopol to Odessa to take the landing troops, and from there to the Strait of Constantinople in the squadron of Adjutant Lazarev .
In 1834, he commanded a squadron of five ships, two frigates, one brig and one corvette, and the following year he was appointed commander of the Sevastopol port and remained in this position until his death, in 1836 he was promoted to vice admiral .
