Fraps is a computer utility designed to calculate the number of FPS (frames per second) in games running in OpenGL and DirectX modes for Windows operating systems. The program is also designed to create screenshots and record videos from full-screen 3D applications [2] [3] . The name of the program comes from the abbreviation FPS and stands for Fra mes p er s econd.

Basic Functions
- Performance Testing [2] [3] - displays the number of frames per second (FPS), can measure the performance between two points during the game.
- Image Capture [2] - allows you to capture individual frames in 3D applications (by pressing a hot key), which are automatically saved in the selected folder.
- Real-time video capture [2] [3] - allows you to record video at resolutions up to 7680x4800 and frame up to 120 frames per second (FPS).
However, the program has significant drawbacks. First of all, this is a huge consumption of computer resources during video recording and a huge size of video files after recording. For example, a video file with a duration of 10-15 seconds can reach a volume of about 100 megabytes or even more (depending on the video quality settings).
