About Team
The team from Tbilisi was founded in 1936, before the war it was the strongest team in Georgia, we can say that it included all the strongest players in the Georgian SSR . In 1938, the team won the USSR championship in the second group [1] . Having gained the right to play in the first group, the Tbilisi team in the first top-level season of 1939 lost only the difference in goals to the champion - Moscow Lokomotiv and silver medalist - Leningrad GOLIFK , taking third place. It should be noted that neither the Muscovites nor the Leningrad team lost: GOLIFK was beaten with a score of 27:24, and the meeting with Moscow teammates ended in a draw 20:20 [2] . In the next season of 1940, Lokomotiv won silver medals, losing only to the champion - Petrel (Leningrad) (19:47) and another Leningrad team - Dynamo (32:26) [3] . In the post-war period, Lokomotiv played twice in tournaments of the second group: in 1947 and 1948 [1] . Later, the Lokomotiv team was disbanded, and the team became part of Dynamo (Tbilisi).
