Geography
The county was located in the central part of the Voronezh province , in the north it bordered on the Tambov province [2] . The area of ββthe county in 1897 was 8 159.7 [1] verstsΒ² (9,286 kmΒ²), in 1926 - 8,238 [3] kmΒ².
History
The county was formed in 1779 as part of the Voronezh governorate (since 1796 - the Voronezh province ).
In 1928, the Voronezh province and all counties were abolished. On the territory of the Bobrovsky district, the Bobrovsky district of the Voronezh district of the Central Black Earth region was formed [4] .
Population
According to the 1897 census, 286,745 [1] people lived in the county. Including Russians - 83.2%, Ukrainians - 16.5%. 3,884 people lived in Bobrov .
According to the results of the 1926 All-Union population census, the countyβs population was 353,858 people [3] , of which the city population was 44,941.
