Biography
Born March 30, 1900. Date of death - November 1997.
He studied in the years 1924-1928 at the Leningrad Higher Art and Technical Institute (LVHTI, formerly the Academy of Arts, VHUTEIN ).
Teachers include: A.E. Belogrud , L.N. Benois , V.G. Gelfreich , L.V. Rudnev , S.S. Serafimov , I.A. Fomin , V.A. Shchuko .

The first projects were performed by V. A. Gaikovich in Leningrad in collaboration with his comrades from the Baltic Art Institute - the Academy of Arts:
- The Dynamo Stadium with the Palace of Physical Education on Krestovsky Island (1931; together with E. I. Katonin , L. M. Polyakov ; competition);
- Central Park of Culture and Recreation (1931; together with E. I. Katonin , V. V. Danilov, T. I. Ichuginoy, L. M. Polyakov ; competition);
- Department store Narkomsnab of the USSR (c. 1933; together with E. I. Katonin ; Ing. S. I. Catonin );
- The city center of Leningrad is the square near the House of Soviets (1939-1940; co-author V. V. Stepanov, consultant V. A. Vitman; competition).
